Shaving every other day, booking wax appointments, dealing with ingrown hairs: laser hair removal ends that cycle. A series of quick sessions targets the hair at the root, so it grows back finer and sparser until most of it stops coming back.
We treat face and body, for women and men, at our clinic on Yonge Street in Aurora.
How Laser Hair Removal Works
The laser sends light into the skin, where it’s absorbed by the pigment in the hair. That light turns to heat and damages the follicle, which slows or stops future growth.
Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only works on hairs that are in their active growth phase. That’s why you need a series of sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, to catch every follicle at the right time.
How many sessions you’ll need
Most people need 6 to 8 sessions. Body areas are usually spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, and the face about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Hormonal areas like the chin can need occasional maintenance sessions later.
What results to expect
You’ll usually notice thinner, slower regrowth after the first 2 or 3 sessions. By the end of your series, most people see a large, long-lasting reduction in hair. Laser hair removal is a permanent hair reduction, not a guarantee that every hair is gone forever.
Who Laser Hair Removal Works For
Laser works best on dark hair, because the laser targets pigment. Our laser is suitable for a wide range of skin tones, and we’ll check your skin and hair type at your consultation before your first session.
It doesn’t work well on white, grey, light blonde or red hair, because there’s too little pigment for the laser to target. If that’s your hair colour, we’ll tell you honestly at your consultation.
Laser isn’t recommended if you’re pregnant, have a tan or recent sun exposure, or are using medications that make your skin sensitive to light. Let us know about any medications when you book.

- Legs: lower, upper or full
- Back, chest and shoulders
- Full body
How to Prepare for Your Session
- Shave the area 24 hours before. Don’t wax, pluck, thread or use hair removal creams for 4 weeks before, since the laser needs the root in place.
- Avoid sun and tanning (including self-tanner) for 2 weeks before.
- Come with clean skin. No lotion, deodorant or makeup on the area.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
- Consultation and patch test. We check your skin and hair, review your medical history and, if needed, do a small patch test.
- Treatment. You’ll wear protective eyewear. Most people describe the feeling as a quick snap, like an elastic band. Small areas take a few minutes; full body takes longer.
- After. Mild redness is normal and usually fades within a few hours.
Aftercare
- Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30 or higher on treated areas.
- Skip hot showers, saunas and intense exercise for 24 hours.
- Don’t pluck or wax between sessions. Shaving is fine.

Common Questions About Laser Hair Removal
How many laser hair removal sessions do I need?
Most people need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, because the laser only treats hairs in their active growth phase.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people find it very manageable. It feels like a quick snap of an elastic band against the skin. Areas with thinner skin, like the upper lip and bikini line, can feel more sensitive.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
It gives a permanent reduction in hair, not total removal. Most people see a large, long-lasting reduction after a full series. Some areas, especially hormonal ones like the chin, may need occasional touch-ups.
Can I get laser hair removal on darker skin?
Our laser is suitable for a wide range of skin tones. We assess your skin at a free consultation and can do a patch test before your first session.
How should I prepare for laser hair removal?
Shave the area 24 hours before, avoid waxing or plucking for 4 weeks before, and stay out of the sun and tanning beds for 2 weeks before your session.
How much does laser hair removal cost in Aurora?
Pricing depends on the areas you treat and the number of sessions you need. We’ll give you a full price upfront at your free consultation.
Does laser work on blonde, red or grey hair?
Usually not. The laser targets the pigment in the hair, so very light, red or grey hair doesn’t respond well. We’ll tell you honestly at your consultation.
